Dreaming of better weather...

I woke up this morning dreaming about Fall. It was 109 degrees yesterday in Houston, record heat. It's so hot that I walked three houses over to my neighbor's and I was dripping in sweat and swear I smelled bad by the time I got to her door. Walking to the grocery store and back to my car was a miserable experience.

Heat makes me irritable. It makes me groggy. It makes me thirsty. It makes me want to stay inside. I am so ready for the Fall to get here. I want to take the girls on a bike ride and have them enjoy our swing set in the yard. I want to sit out on my patio in the evenings and read my Kindle and drink a glass of wine.

But mostly, I want to wear my bad ass boots.

  1. Ooohhh, I almost forgot MY bad ass boots! Thanks for the reminder! This heat is beyond what a normal person would define as hot. It's oppressive. It's miserable. It's basically forcing Houstonians indoors. And don't forget the mosquitoes. I'll be so happy when I don't have to soak my children in insect repellent to play outside. Houston, however, is a fabulous place to live between November & May!

  2. Hey!

I love reading your blog (probably b/c of your writing style). There is a topic though that I haven’t seen covered yet (sorry if I was out of town while you posted it). But I was wondering if you could post about saving cord blood??? I’m still trying to decide if its a good idea. I’m using this site for most of my info: http://www.publiccordbloodbanks.org/ , I’d like to hear some real life advice though.

At the very least I intend on donating. Just thought I’d float the idea by you for a post.

    Thanks!
