New Infusion Set...

Through much deliberation and Facebooking...we tried the 30 infusion set tonight. Seems to be doing well so far. Lily gets her very own pump tomorrow and there has been talk of naming it Sparkles. Love kids...

One of my friends on Facebook mentioned that if anyone else had read our thread (it was about Lily going high and getting ketones a few times), they would be reading Chinese. I found that so funny...and thought provoking! We speak a whole other language in our diabetes bubble than the rest of the world does. We were discussing infusion sets, sites, ketones, Lantus, basal, bolus, inclusions, etc...it's crazy to me that this is all second nature to my tongue. It just rolls off like it's the most common thing in the world to discuss.

Well, very short post but I am being summoned upstairs by Lilyboo herself to go count her change...so, I am off! Love having my babies home with me. AND IN ONE WEEK MY OTHER BABY COMES!!!! Can't wait to get a big ol' hug from my boo! xxoo

  1. Yeah, I think its funny when someones friend comments "what?". I ended up seperating everyone into groups and tend to only post certain things to my D friends. Easier :)

  3. It's funny because when I read your posts about questions or comments on D, I'm always googling lots of terms afterward to better understand. :) It is like a foreign language to those of us who don't deal with the daily challenges. But since I want to know & understand better I try to educate myself at least on the basics! :)

  8. We just started with the Inset 30. Love it but we had to switch her back to her Animas pump. She can insert the 30s herself but balks at putting in a sil. Did hook up the 30 with her Minimed pump and it does seem to fit (looks like the exact same sil was inserted with the 30 inserter) but she went high later on. Comfort sils by Animas can be used with the Minimed Reservoir and set. Will try this experiment again at a later date though because I think you may be able to use the 30s with the Minimed Reservoir and sil. Using the 30s means she can do a site change herself in an emergency.
